These stands, inaugurated by TDP Chittoor MLA and the city Mayor, are strategically located at the RTC Bus Stand, Mahila University, and Ruia Hospital. The Chittoor district TDP leaders have commended the police force for prioritizing the safety of female auto-rickshaw drivers. The “She Auto” stands are easily distinguishable, thanks to their vibrant pink color, and have been instrumental in enhancing safety for women. Notably, there have been no reported accident cases involving female auto drivers. An NGO named Rashtriya Seva Samithi has been pivotal in training women to operate auto-rickshaws, resulting in over 150 women auto drivers in and around Tirupati. This TDP development in Chittoor has also received commendation from various organizations working toward women’s empowerment and gender equality.
