N Chandrababu Naidu’s Commitment To Modernizing APSRTC Bus Stops

Under the leadership of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government, the Andhra Pradesh State Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is embarking on an ambitious initiative to modernize and revamp crucial bus stops across the state. The latest updates on this transformative endeavour can be found in TDP’s Latest News. In its initial phase, a total of 21 strategically selected bus stops are set to undergo a remarkable transformation. This TDP scheme aims to alleviate congestion at key city terminals while creating additional commercial space for sustainable growth. APSRTC is also actively exploring the public-private partnership (PPP) model to construct four brand-new bus terminals. R.P. Thakur, who serves as the vice-chairman and managing director of APSRTC, has identified several critical areas that require improvement. These enhancements are not limited to mere aesthetics but also encompass providing passengers with essential services that cater to their diverse needs. At the time, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, announced that the selection of these 21 bus stations, including all the district headquarters, was based on factors like the volume of bus operations and the average daily passenger count.

The list of bus stations slated for modernization includes Visakhapatnam (Dwaraka), Nellore Potti Sri Ramulu, Machilipatnam, Eluru, Addanki, Kakinada, Guntur, Atmakur, Ongole, Rajamahendravaram, Pileru, Kadapa, Kurnool, Anantapur, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam. This comprehensive coverage ensures that every district in Andhra Pradesh benefits from this revitalization effort. The modernization plan encompasses nine key focus areas, guided by the vision and leadership of Nara Chandrababu Naidu and supported by TDP MLAs and TDP Leaders. These areas include providing an adequate number of restrooms in alignment with daily passenger volumes, restroom facilities catering to individuals with special needs, the introduction of WiFi services, dedicated baby feeding rooms, floor repairs, enhanced seating arrangements within bus stations, aesthetic improvements such as painting, and better lighting across the station premises. As part of the TDP agenda the broader modernization drive, the state government of Andhra Pradesh under the TDP Party is committed to offering passengers a significantly improved experience while using these bus stops. The enhancements not only focus on aesthetics but also on the functionality and comfort of the facilities.

Furthermore, the APSRTC is equipping its new buses with cutting-edge technology. These state-of-the-art features include the Fire Detection and Suppression System (FDSS), Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS), Disc Brakes, Retarder Brakes for High-Speed and Ghat Buses, Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), CC Cameras in Divya Darshanam Buses, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), and Speed Limiting Devices (SLD). These technological advancements and TDP developments ensure the safety and efficiency of the bus fleet. The modernized bus stations provide passengers with innovative amenities such as improved lighting, well-maintained toilets, comfortable seating within waiting areas, digital display boards for bus schedules, and access to clean drinking water. The modernization efforts at these bus stations are being executed through a tender-based contract system, with the finalization of contractors occurring in September. This transformation project by N Chandrababu Naidu, known as Nadu-Nedu, epitomizes the government’s commitment to bringing about visible development and enhancing the overall travel experience for the people of Andhra Pradesh. The TDP government’s dedication to improving public transportation infrastructure and services is showcased through these remarkable TDP achievements and TDP contributions.
